How To Seal Countertops

How To Seal Your Granite Countertops: A Demonstration By Great Lakes Granite & Marble

A good quality stone sealer typically lasts at least 7 years. First, use the water test to determine if your countertops need to be sealed. Then follow these easy instructions.

Do your counter tops need to be sealed?

First, apply some water to your countertop.  If it beads up, the sealer is still good.  But if the water soaks in, your counters are due for more sealer.
Your original sealer should last at least 7 – 10 years.

Ingredients Needed:

1) Dry Cloth
2) Water-based or impregnating sealers
Unlike surface-type sealers, which can affect a stone’s color, impregnators penetrate without altering appearance.
